I should begin by saying historical fiction from the ancient Rome period has never interested me, but this well written, very well researched novel held me from the beginning. It has it all, a secret society, conspiracy, assassins, mistaken identity, and loads of action and suspense. Based on this books I am planning on checking out other books by Mr. Greanias. The Chiron Confession Thomas Greanias Books Reviews
I love it. Great product!
Really good. Much better than Greanias other books, which I read later and that were a disappointment, given the good quality of this series...
fast paced, entertaining, Imaginative, with well developed characters and plot. his characters play well against the backdrop of history. fundamental historical knowledge gives the book depth
The research that had to be done to write a book of this type was only surpassed by the finished product. One is totally engrossed from the very beginning through to the end, making one look forward to reading the next book to continue the story.
For me it was amazing, fast-paced fiction, depicting intricately, the possible real life underbelly of history, people, institutions, and one man's desparate story.
I have read all of TG's books. After reading Raising Atlantis, he quickly became one of my favorite authors. I was excited to read this one, a history and mystery in one, to take a trip to early Rome in the early beginnings of Christianity. Non stop action, the book gripped me from the very beginning. Highly recommended, the complete trilogy (called Dominium Dei) is one of my favorite works since his Raising Atlantis trilogy. This is the first part in the trilogy. Definitely read it, you won't regret it!
Updated review

A couple of days ago I posted a review for The Chiron Confession - which is book one in a trilogy called "Dominium Dei". In my initial review I talked about how good the book was, but questioned the authors decision to release the book as a trilogy when it certainly seemed that it would work better as one single book. I also questioned the pricing of the book since each of the three books were very short. I felt that the pricing was high compared to other short stories I had purchased on the .
Thomas Greanias (the author) was nice enough to reply to my review with the reasons for the pricing and way in which the book was released. As a reader, nothing makes you happier than to know that the authors you support genuinely care what you think, and are willing to take the time to explain themselves when there is a question. So Greanias gets a gold star in my book.
So now that I've finished all three books, I'd like to edit my initial review.
You should absolutely read Dominium Dei. It's the best work Greanias has put out since "The Atlantis Prophesy" and maybe even better. This book is non-stop action from page one to the end. Athanasius makes the perfect sympathetic hero. The circumstances he finds himself in to start the story are both completely unfair and completely unavoidable. As he battles through the situation and fights desperately to try and make things right, it serves only to mire him deeper into the muck that has become his life. The plot thickens with every page turn and Greanias does a masterful job of revealing plot twists at just the right moment. The book ends not the way the reader would hope, but instead, the way it should....because not every story has a happy ending. But the ending is satisfying nevertheless and the book as a whole is better for it.
It's rare to find a 300 page story so completely engrossing, but Greanias pulls it off here with great research and a deft hand. Any fans of historical fiction, action/adventure, or even religious fiction would do well to pick up this one as quickly as possible. A great read. A+
